What Belongs to God

• Creation, Heaven, the Heavens, and the Earth

  Foundational Ownership: God's possessions are rooted in the fact that He created everything. As the Creator, He has inherent rights over all of His creation.

  Genesis 1:1 - "In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth."

  Deuteronomy 10:14: "Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD’s thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is." This highlights God's ownership over both heavens and earth and everything in them

  Nehemiah 9:6: "Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee."

  Job 41:11 Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.

  Psalm 89:11 "The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them."

  Psalm 115:16: "The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men."

  Acts 17:24: "God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands."

  Romans 11:36 "For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen."

  1Corinthians 10:26 "For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof."

  Colossians 1:16-17 "For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."

  Revelation 4:11: "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."

  Note: The Earth belongs to the Lord, but He has given men rule over it. Exo 19:5b ...for all the earth is mine:

  Genesis 1:28: "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

  Psalm 8:6-8: "Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas."

• All God's People: Christians and the true Nation of Israel

  Exodus 19:5-6 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

  Deuteronomy 7:6: "For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth."

  Jeremiah 31:33: "But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people."

  Ezekiel 36:28: "And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God."

  Romans 14:8: "For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's."

  1Corinthians 3:23: "And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's."

  1Corinthians 6:19-20: "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s."

  1Peter 2:9: "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light."

  Psalm 22:28: "For the kingdom is the LORD’s: and he is the governor among the nations."

  Daniel 4:17: "This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men."

• All Souls, All Life

  Job 12:10: "In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind."

  Psalm 24:1: "The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof, the world, and they that dwell therein."

  Psalm 31:5 (KJV): "Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth."

  Ezekiel 18:4: "Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die."

  Acts 17:25: > "Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things."

  Haggai 2:8: "The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts."

  1 Timothy 6:7: "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."

  James 1:17: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

• All the Animals

  Psalm 50:10-12: "For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fullness thereof."

• Firstborn

  Exodus 13:2: "Set apart for me all the firstborn. Whatever is the first to open the womb among the Israelites, both of man and of beast, it belongs to me."

  Numbers 3:13: "For all the firstborn are mine; on the day I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified to myself all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: they shall be mine: I am the Lord."

  Deuteronomy 15:19: "You shall sanctify to the Lord your God all the firstborn males that come from your herd and flock: you shall do no work with the firstborn of your bullock, nor shear the firstborn of your sheep."

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever."

  Revelation 7:12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
